Ice-breaker course
Like it says, you learn to meet, greet and break the ice. It is aimed at beginners and covers:
Greetings
Etiquette (formalities such as how to address someone you've never met before)
Introducing yourself
Giving information about yourself – such as name, company name, job, time at company, where you're from/live…
Asking questions (to get information such as above)
“Having transferred to a European job role, I was amazed at the language skills of my mainly German colleagues. I was, however, a little embarrassed that when in meetings or socialising after work, my German colleagues had to speak English for my benefit. Thanks to an excellent business German course provided by Barbara Chapman I can now converse and generally find my way around most situations. It really has helped as my German colleagues greatly appreciate the efforts I have made with learning German.
Benefits in the working environment have also been numerous: speaking to customers, and in particular dealing with people from the “Old East” whose second language was Russian. Thanks to my German course, I have managed to sort out some quite technical issues - not that my German is technical but the good will generated by my efforts to speak German tend to win the day."

The aim of this course is not fluency; at the end of it you will be able to converse within a limited range. The idea behind the course is to show willing. By which we mean you will have demonstrably made the effort to speak the other party's language and we know this pays dividends – especially if you're trying to sell abroad . The business may be conducted in English but your willingness to greet and socialise in your customer's language makes for a far warmer and more prosperous business relationship.
