So how do you structure courses?
Remember it’s what suits you so you may opt for…
Once or twice weekly sessions of:
1&1/2 hours (we generally recommend a minimum of 1&1/2 hours)
2 hours
A half-day session (3 hours)
A full-day session (6 hours) if you need to step up the pace.
You might be one person or a group. If you have opted for a shorter session length then we would advise you keep group numbers lower (maximum of six people).
The above is not exhaustive, so if you have other requirements just let us know!
What will it cost me?
It’s not a cost, it’s an investment and the immediate
answer is: “It depends!” Courses are designed
to fit you so they don’t carry a fixed price tag like
an off-the-peg item.. However, we do understand budgets and
concerns about money so we are always happy to find out more
about your requirements in order to give you a price.

I’d like to have something specific to put on my CV.
Can I take an exam?
“Dear Barbara
Just a few words to thank you for the excellent tuition and help that you gave Vicky and me during our CBLC Entry Level German course. I’m pleased to inform you that we received our OCR Certificates yesterday.
Again, thank you for getting us through the exams.
Kind regards”

Yes, of course you can. We usually put people forward for the appropriate level of Oxford Cambridge RSA’s Certificates in Business Language Competence. These certificates are, as the name implies, based around general business functions (such as making arrangements by telephone, visiting a company abroad) and are based on the National Language Standards.
If you want to take a different certificate then just let us know!
What are the National Language Standards?
The National Language Standards provide a nationally recognised framework for measuring achievement in language learning in an occupational context. There are six levels, which set out the knowledge and skills required to achieve competence in another language from basic to advanced levels.
The Centre for Information on Language Training (CILT) can give you more information, and provide you with a copy of the Standards.
